Claire
The Irish regiment Claire has the dubious honor of being the first regiment in the service of the throne of St. Maurice. Dubious because the men or Erin never let the locals forget that their country owes it's independence to the rambunctious Wild Geese. Formed in 1724 (MY 1974), these sons of the old sod have taken part in all but one of His Majesty's altercations, and remain the most feared troops in the battle line. Irish to a man, the regiment has done more to expand an appreciation for Guinness on the continent, than any other single entity.

This is a very attractive unit. And I'm glad that you've finally enabled the "comments" feature of your blog.

I also liked the other units that you've featured and hope that you will share more of your figures with us.

Thanks Jeff,
It's hard for me to believe that I actually painted these 33 years ago. Truth is, I really like the stuff I currently paint, although I really can see where my eye for detail has faded some in that time. I appreciate your comments.

Glad you took the plunge of blogging. Saint Maurice indeed deserves more than what the archives and files of a group (how enjoyable it may be in its own way) can offer.

Great-looking units and pleasant presentation: compliments!

Hope Aldoberg-Holstein will follow your example, so we can fully enjoy spectacular battle reports!

Best regards,
Jean-Louis

Thanks Jean-Louis,
I've been trying to encourage the A-H Elector to join in the fun. but to date, he claims to have no time for such things. It is my intent to publish pictures of future battles along with narrative so one-sided and slanderous that he will have no choice but to join in, simply to defend himself. Thanks again.
